Learn More About the FCU TeamAbout the Furthering Community Unity (FCU) Team
Shell FCU believes the foundation of any successful community is dependent on the willingness of its local population to become involved in its overall success. We also believe instilling the spirit of volunteerism is one of the most important elements to a long, happy and successful life. The FCU Team powered by Shell FCU was formed to provide opportunities for giving back in our communities and teaching the value of social responsibility in a fun team setting.
What does the FCU Team do?
The FCU Team devotes hefty and small amounts of their precious personal time to participate in events that affect people and places within our communities.
What do individuals receive for volunteering at an FCU Team event?
Individuals will make a difference in their community while spending time with friends and family volunteering for a worthy cause, the chance to have their picture posted on the FCU Team website and a FREE FCU Team t-shirt when they attend their first FCU Team sponsored event.
How do individuals or groups register?
Registration is available online, by email firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 713-844-0625. Events are listed by date and give specific details as to time, location, age requirements and generic details. If it’s an FCU Team sponsored event a release form is signed at the event.
Does everyone have to be a Shell FCU member to participate in an event?
No, anyone is welcome to participate with the FCU Team. We’re pulling together all our resources to volunteer for a stronger community.
What if they are under 16 and want to participate?
A parental permission slip is available online. Those under 16 will not be allowed to participate without a signed parental permission slip.
Do volunteers have to volunteer for every event?
No. Individuals can pick and choose the events they’d like to participate in. Participants may choose to volunteer for every event or the ones they choose. The FCU Team encourages all participants to make a monthly or quarterly personal goal to volunteer on a regular basis.
